Pandemic Mode

The Covid-19 pandemic has radically changed passengers’ view of safe travel. Even though there are no longer any significant restrictions, customers now have new expectations of local and regional public transport services. To meet these expectations better, we worked with passengers, passenger associations and medical professionals to design a host of measures that enhance travellers’ safety, and we put the prototypes into practice in an S-Bahn train

We noticed that certain changes had a considerable influence on passengers’ sense of safety. Avoiding close contact between people, particularly face-to-face contact, was one. Others included separators between seated and standing passengers, in addition to the use of visible antiviral coatings and cleaning methods for surfaces.
